A very true quote!
Back during the Roman times a solider would pick a person out of the crowd on the path they were marching on to carry his pack for him.
This person was required to carry the pack for 1 mile and at that time the person could hand the pack back to the solider.
Every once in awhile there would be a person that would carry the pack for two miles.
This person was then known as a person that would walk the extra mile.
One of the problems with our present society is finding a person that is willing to walk the first mile!!!!
