Hello Nick,
Chronic Fatigue syndrome is actually one of the things that caused me to retire from teaching.
It is also characterized by a continuous fever that runs from 99 up to 101, acid reflux, heartburn, sleep deprivation, night terrors, hair loss, and weight gain. The first thing that medical doctors do is send you to a psychiatrist who doesn't have a clue.
The Rheumatologist is the doctor that finally diagnosed it. She treated me with mega doses of vitamin D. It has helped more than any of the "medicines" I researched the effects of being vitamin D deficient and they directly paralell the effects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I am allergic to milk, so I had gone a life time of being deficient because the only vitamin D I ingested was contained in my calcium supplement. That was not enough.
The medicines from my many physicians only made the situation worse. I've weaned myself of all medicines and am now just taking my vitamins, limiting salt, sugar, fried foods and exercising. I am still in physical therapy 3 times weekly. It has been a year since the symptoms started.
You are posting some very interesting forums.
Lucy
