Angela, the Mars sighting email that's circulating again this year originated in 2003. Check out Snopes.com for info. I understand Mars is still quite close to us and appears larger than usual, but the one thing that was misleading in the email was the actual visual size. It was never anywhere near moon-sized to the naked eye...that was with a telescope. So don't be too disappointed.
