One side note:

When recipricol linking is utilized........usually any significant boost in ranking is only achieved when you link to another site that shows up within the top 25 listings for any specific keyword.

You can have 100 links on your site..... and it won't do you any good if the site's you are linking to aren't ranked.  Good ranking also comes with time......
