Blogs and Blog Blasters Don't Mix ...
8/14/2006 4:04:45 PM
Blogs and Blog Blasters Don't Mix ... I wanted to bring forward the idea of blogs and blog blasters. There are several programs that have been promoted over the past year to blast ads onto blogs. They all have done a great job ... at making blog writers mad. Many bloggers write with a passion and their content is can be very focused. An example. You write an article on dyslexia: symptoms and cures. Fantastic article. You are set to recieve comments from the public on it and several people with the same interest do comment. Then comes along someone blasting an ad into your comment area reading: Make MILLIONS $elling Cell phone chargers!!! Within a week you can be on easy street amking HUGE amounts of cash with our new patented charger. Go to ...... You get the picture. Not only does this NOT belong here but has nothing to do with 'commenting' on the person's article. It's rude and says alot about you, too. Since the creation of these blasters it has provoked many bloogers to turn off commenting and/or block with filters what is coming in. There has also been added the opt in step to place comments on blogs and the security code needing entered to guarantee it's a human posting. So, if you want to succeed in business and NOT have a 'black eye' to your name stay away from blasters. Do they work? They used to but now are either blocked or continue to make bloggers mad. Happy Blogging. Kenneth R Sword Jr

Hey Blog Guy,

Thanks for the info.  I really couldn't  figure out where those millions of adblasters and Blog blasters dump their stuff, anyway.

Can you give some comments on syndicated feeds, such RSS, Atom, Xhtml, etc. and how they work.

Thanks for sharing,

maxinvegas

Hi,
This is very good info. I for one, get very upset at people posting comments that don't belong. As most of us do, i work very hard to make my blogs the best that the can be. I love comments. The substance though should pertain to the post. I think most of us feel this same way. It's like wearing shorts and a tank top to a black tie ball. It just should and will not be tolerated, at least, by me on my blogs. Thank you so much kenneth, for this thread. I am eager to see the responses.

Hi Kenneth, I think all of us know what your talking about here. It's very annoying to get comments to posts that are just spamming, not on subject. Most of the Blasters that I have come across just dont work anyway. Thanks for the invite. Thanks Ken it is very important to stay focused on the subject when you post. I have noticed we still have a few at Adland that instead to respnd to the post they just blast a ad in the response & some with a banner even. I think this is very rude to the person who put so much time & effert into there forum & then to be dealing with this kind of bunk. Not good at all. I see it time in & time out again & again.
Thanks for the great forum on blogging & blog blasters.
