'HERE ON BUSINESS

Hello my friends, Here is a story we can all relate to.Enjoy, Have an amazing week. Kathy/simikathy.com 'HERE ON BUSINESS' "He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant." (2 Corinthians 3:6, NIV) How many times in your golfing experience have you walked to the first tee and announced, "I'm here on business"? Such a mindset would be rather laughable. Though some of us use the golf course as a place to entertain clients and build business relationships, almost no one goes to the golf course "on business." We go there because it is fun. We go there "for pleasure." But earthly pleasure, as enjoyable as it is and as effective sometimes for the refreshing of our minds, is never enough for the follower of Christ. That is because we our born--when we are born again--into ministry. God has given us a job to do. Often, we want our job to be highly defined, as it is for the many specialists in our time. Shall I pray? Shall I teach? Shall I give? Shall I open another's mind to Christ through provocative words about Him? "Give me a job," you might say, "and I'll do it"--all the while thinking of something quite specific. Often, however, God calls us to do what is right in front of us, to minister according to the various needs of others. That's a general calling, no doubt. It requires us to keep our eyes and our ears open to what people need. Are they plagued by a sinful hold they cannot break? Is their marriage on the rocks, or their relationship with their children entirely contentious? Have they ever been introduced to the true story of how God loved them enough to send His own Son to die for them? Are they a battle-weary believer suddenly doubting God? You see, our questions, if we are to minister as God would have it, are not to be questions about ourselves at all. They are to be questions about others. When we know them, we can do our best work for Him--in the board room, on the putting green, or anywhere else God leads us. Here on business ?

Would it be un-polite to say "here to serve" ?

What I think you are getting at is the "Anointing Of God".

It was in Moses's face when he came down from the mountain.
It was in Moses's rod that broke the Red Sea.
From the time of Elijah to the days of Jesus to the miracles
performed by Peter and Paul the "Anointing Of God" has been available to every believer.  And still is today.

Mark 16:15-20                                Amen
