Larry,
I was talking about babies needing to be held and cuddled to develop normally. If they don't get that, they develop failure-to-thrive syndrome, which is actually life-threatening. Babies in overcrowded orphanages where they never get picked up develop it, as well as babies whose mothers are depressed and neglect them. Sad, huh?
And seniors get depressed and stop eating and they call it the same thing, failure to thrive. But getting a pet can help in those cases--something to love that loves them back.
Geez, mind out of the gutter, dude. lol
