Awesome article, Anna! (oooh! alliteration)
The other thing I hate are prospective sponsors that don't give you anything. I've been trying to get info on a particular program, and so far 2 sponsors have given me the same treatment. There's this attitude that "if you have to ask questions like these, this program isn't for you."
Bull. I'm a consumer too, and if I'm going to sign up for a program, I need to know some information. These are always my basic questions for every program:
1. What products does this MLM sell? 2. What are my cost commitments? 3. What are my commissions likely to be? 4.
What advantage is there in being an "Executive Director" (or "Sales Manager," or whatever else upgraded members are called)? Do I need
this in order to succeed, or is it just an extra bonus level?
5. If I do become an ED, what is required to maintain that status?
With this information I can make an informed decision. Notice that the product is the first question. So many times I get hit with the "we're selling opportunity" flim-flam...every business has to be selling something, since the money has to come from somewhere.
All too often we're told the cost to join is free and the products sell themselves. Only once we're hooked do we find out that it is indeed free, but that you need to spend $X.00 on products every month in order to maintain a downline, or you have to achieve Y level in order to make a decent profit. I'm more likely to join if someone is just up front about these details. If I find out later that there are hiddne costs involved, I'm gone, and the sponsor will never see another dime in commissions from my efforts.
