BASICS/FUNDAMENTALS

"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." -- Aldous Huxley

"Show me a man who cannot bother to do little things and I'll show you a man who cannot be trusted to do big things." -- Lawrence Bell

"Morale and attitude are the fundamental ingredients to success." -- Bud Wilkinson

"The spirit of truth and the spirit of freedom - they are the pillars of society." -- Henrik Ibsen

LEADERSHIP

The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you.

Max De Pree

The very essence of leadership is that you have to have a vision. It's got to be a vision you articulate clearly and forcefully on every occasion. You can't blow an uncertain trumpet.

Theodore Hesburgh
Cleric and educator

It's more difficult for you to ignore negativity than for me. Some people have no interest in factual truth, they will say anything and everything that they think will hinder morale. It's probably true I could gather information by exposing myself to this trash, but none that will make a difference to my job or my safety, so there's nothing of worth for me there. It's better that my positivity is it's highest.

My faith is very strong. What I'm trying to say is that I live and work by my faith, not my learning. So I can't have my faith under attack for the sake of my learning.
