Hi Kathy.
It's always good to remind people they should be diligent when handing out personal info on the internet.
However, it's also useful to keep in mind that not every warning is real.
Point number one is that State Police NEVER use forwarded emails as a way to spread warnings to people. Any email that you get that's a forward from someone you know that appears to be a serious warning from state or federal police, or any other enforcement agency, is in all likelihood a hoax.
Before publishing such a warning and getting everyone's jitters up, I'd recommend you do a Google search on something from the content of the email BEFORE you post it to forums. Find out if it's real or not.
I just Googled "Monkeyman935", and all the results shown are for sites devoted to revealing hoaxes and urban legends. This particular one has been around since 2000, and is completely FALSE.
Here's just one link: http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/blslavemaster5.htm
We need to stop feeding paranoia and do some research about these warnings before freaking people out for nothing.
