Type: Urban Legend

Description:

This email hoax is aimed at online users who are ready to believe all the stories contained in forwarded letters.

It particularly warns the email recipient against a supposedly dangerous person using the online screen name, Monkeyman935, a nick which is said to have been seen in Yahoo, AOL, AIM, and Excite chat rooms. In an attempt to sound like a concerned citizen, it repeatedly advises the recipient to forward the email to close friends, to protect them from this "murderer". It even mentions the state police to sound authentic.

Trend Micro advises users to disregard the contents of this email, delete it, and not forward it to other users as it is clearly a hoax and a spam.

This is something received from the MD State Police and I received it from my employer who works for the City of Owen Sound. If a person with the screen name of Slavemaster contacts you, do not reply. Do not talk to this person, do not answer any of his/her instant messages or email. Whoever this person may be is a suspect for murder in the death of 56 women (so far) contacted through the internet.

Please send this to all the women on your buddy list and ask them to pass this on as well. This screen name was seen on Yahoo, AOL, and Excite so far. This is not a joke. Please send this to men too, just in case they have wives, daughters, mothers, etc. Send to everyone you know.

Ladies, this is serious. If you receive something from Slavemaster, contact your local police department.
