Hi Mary,
The title of this thread caught me, so I wrote this little ditty:
Once upon a summer's day
When I was young and gay,
I took my little sailboat out
For a day of play.
The breeze was light, the sun was warm,
The water smooth and blue.
I hoisted sail and off I went
With a shout 'WOO-HOO'!
A dolphin played along my bow
And acted as my guide
Until I reached the island
And beached myself inside....
....A little cove where parrots squawked
And hermit crabs went skittering!
Shells spoke to me in magic ways,
Their ocean voices whispering.
As the sun began to fade
I brought my sailboat back;
And that's how I went out to play
Once upon a summer's day.
