NO! You do not have to up grade there is a lot more rewards when you upgrade but it is not neccessary to upgrade. GO to your home page and click on one link at a time if it tries to direct you elsewhere don't go you will get confused. go back to your home page and click another link. There is a second part too - to find it, just click back a category on the heading to this forum (at the top of the forum page - not the address line) i found it useful new and not so new.
