Re: Did you hear all the screaming? (new FTC rule)

Hi, guys. Had to take time out for my poker fix. I feel much better now, lol. Linda, true, little fish seldom recruit big fish except in MLM, where you can 'borrow' your credibility from your upline. The rule, which I'm extrapolating from your initial post, that says you have to disclose how long you've been involved and how much you've made simply means that you'll have to work harder. I.e., someone who hasn't been involved long or made much money had better have a darn good explanation of the benefit to be gained or a lower expectation of how long it's going to take to reach team stability. Maybe now all those people who are saying 'we'll help you' will have to step up to the plate to do that. As for the popups, Roger thanks for pointing me to Mary's thread. Since I've been on vacation, I missed my invitation. I still find them annoying, but look forward to better days as Bogdan has hinted we can do. Gary, thanks for asking. My vacation was very peaceful and relaxing for the most part. No internet for 10 days! It's lucky I enjoy my friends here so much or I might chuck the whole internet forever, lol! Cheri

Hello Linda and all, Between this thread and the other you created, 'Decent or indecent? Thoughts?' http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/thread/387979.aspx , there is one common word I can think of that relates to the people involved. Lazy. Scammed because of lack of due diligence - lazy. FTC wants more paperwork. Real businesses need a paper trail for legal and accounting reasons so it should be in place already. Those that don't even have a business license - lazy. What is greed? Acquisitive or selfish desire beyond reason. Meaning - will take shortcuts to get the money quickly and possibly unethically. Unethical leads us to become immoral. Then mans value is worthless. Parents of older times used to say to their kids "you're worthless". They would say that when they saw the kids being lazy. Can the parents of older times be right? __________ Kenneth R Sword Jr Co-CEO - Bizzy Blogz http://www.bizzyblogz.com Sponsor of the ABA Basketball 'Streetball' group "Nothing But Net Entertainment" http://www.bizzyblogz.com/NBNE/ New! Hi: ========== Scammed because of lack of due diligence - lazy. ... Those that don't even have a business license - lazy. Unethical leads us to become immoral. Then mans value is worthless. Parents of older times used to say to their kids "you're worthless". They would say that when they saw the kids being lazy. Can the parents of older times be right? ========== When I was growing up, Mom would periodically ask us what we were doing. "Linda, what are you doing?" or "Dianna, what are you doing?" (or any of my 8 siblings) If the answer was "nothing" - she'd put us to work. Reading, cleaning or doing homework were acceptable answers that would not result in chores. lol. I like this quotation; Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of. [Ben Franklin] There was a line in the last Batman movie that I really liked. It is not who I "am," but what I do, that defines me. So true. We are what we DO. : ) Linda

Hi Linda, I dont believe that any changes in the law will get rid of the big crooks, but it may well frighten away a lot of little ones! Tightening up on laws usually has that effect. ---------------------------------------------- "FTC wants more paperwork. Real businesses need a paper trail for legal and accounting reasons so it should be in place already. Those that don't even have a business license - lazy. ----------------------------------------------- Real businesses have real rules. If Networking and MLM businesses are to regain their credibility (which they are losing fast for many people) then they have to be credible and accept some real rules for the real money they want to earn. Or is it more comfortable to have it all uncontrolled and cry "it's not fair" when they are caught out. All forms of self employment, including home businesses and internet businesses, involve paper wor, much as we all dislike having to take the time to do it. If you want to be taken seriously, get serious. Saludos Jenny
