I had no idea so many people gave their lives building that dam. Were there no safety procedures back then I wonder?

when pouring concrete of that multitude, you have to have the conctete pouring at a contininous rate so there is no seams in it to weaken the dam so I don't think they were concerned about safety to people working as they were with the dam
