Hi Ana Maria It is so true what you said. My parents are in their 80's and live a distance away, but we both have web cams and I treasure every conversation.

HI AnaMaria, Thanks so much for this forum and for inviting me. My Dad pasted away in February 1997, and it was the worse time of my life. My Dad was my best friend, and it hurt me so to see him leave. I know I took it worse than my mother did even. I think she was more relieved than anything else because she was taking take of him, and I know his passing was a weight lifted off her shoulders! That is not meant to sound mean, but she said that as well...my Dad was suffering alot!! God knew how much misery I was in losing my father, and so he brought me my 1st grandchild a few months later. I think God knew I needed a diversion and someone else to put all my love and attention into! God always replaces a life with another one I think! I Love You Dad & Still Miss You Very Much! I'll See You Again One Day Before Too Long! Thanks for sharing AnaMaria, God Bless, Marilyn

hello my dear friends! Please excuse me for being so late to thank you for showing up and joining my way of honoring fathers. They deserve as much as mothers (this is my point of view and looks yours too) My husband is also an awsome father. Only for that, and he is to be kept! LOL Wish you all the best memories with your fathers. Anamaria

Hello Anamaria: Loved this writing on Fathers. I lost mine 2yrs ago this May. He made it to 87 and that to me is amazing. The latter years of his life he suffered with Dementia and knew no one. Since he lived in another city, I only got to see him occasionally. I saw him a year before he passed. I massaged his feet as chilly and brushed my hands through his air and caressed his cheek. I did not know that would be the last time. The night before he passed away, I got out of bed in a very distressed state and was literally sobbing into the wee hours. I wrote 5 poems that morning and the one I called "Believe" has inspired me more than most because I believe that he came to me that morning to say goodbye. Yes, it takes the loss of our parents for some to realize (me included) not only their value but who they really were. I send a prayer to all Fathers. They really do have a very important place in our lives! Elaine

Hello Elaine, Thank you for your input here. Yes, bothe fathers as well as mothers are so very important inour life; and nothing and never will anything fill in the blank they leave behind when passing away. We have to treasure them while we have them along us. With friendship, Anamaria
