This forum is fun, exciting, and is a much needed addition to the AdlandPro community because we are featuring many great and caring people that may otherwise go unnoticed. That is why our forum is a little different than other ones here at Adland that honor members of our community.
Our forum features a member of the AdlandPro community each week who is truly a bright and shining *STAR*. It is a person that may not necessarily be a "high-profile" person per say, but rather someone that is not only a great friend to many, but also has a good heart and truly cares about others.

Here are the qualifications that will be used in the selection of each honoree. People that are selected will be recognized based on:
1. Acts of kindness that they show to their fellow man.
2. Must be willing to help others, and treat people in a kindly manner.
3. Have a good-hearted nature, and shows it through all that they do.
4. Must be a positive role model, and set a good example
5. Must be professional, avoids negativity, and promotes success through faith and hard work
So, if you know of anyone here at AdlandPro that are not necessarily "high profile" people per say, and that don't get the recognition that they deserve, let us know. NICK is an amazingly talented poet and a wonderful guy. He is a very caring member of the Community, has many friends, a Top 100 poster and has a really great forum. He loves his wife, children and the elderly for the stories they can tell. His passion is to inspire the hearts of many, and he has a fantastic website - Poems of Life, Love and Religion – "It's good for the soul to have a good read". The Meaning of The Name NICK;
From the Greek name 'Νικόλαος [Nikolaos]' which meant "victory of the people" from Greek 'νίκη [nike]' "victory" and 'λαός [laos]' "people".
1)Saint Nicholas was a 4th-century bishop from Anatolia who, according to legend, saved the daughters of a poor man from lives of prostitution.
2) He is also known as Santa Claus (from Dutch Sinterklaas), the bringer of Christmas presents. He is the patron saint of children, sailors and merchants, and Greece and Russia.
3) Nicholas was also the name of two czars of Russia and five popes.

Hello to all my friends and ones I have yet to meet. This is such an honour and I am caught off guard. All I can say is that since the day I became a member at Adland I have never been so happy. Being on disability and not being able to move around a lot I have found a place that keeps my mind active and where I can interact with the most interesting people on the net. I truly love you all for all the comments that have been left about my writings and for my fellow writers at Adland who give me the confidence to continue to use my imagination and sense of humour . You are all truly the real meaning of friends. Thank You and God Bless you all.
Some Words on my Bio
I was born June 13 -1951 in a small village in Holland. I was told I was a big boy of 9 pounds and a good baby. For some reason I never cried and seemed to be content. In 1954 we immigrated to Canada and made it our home. We stayed with friends for 2 weeks and moved in our own apartment. When I was 5 my baby brother was born and I loved him so much.
I have done some crazy things. One day a lady came to the door and told my mother that I drank milk and cream from the bottles that were standing on the porch. That time the milkman left them early so when I went to school I would drink all the milk and cream before the school bus came . The neighbours were only scared that I would get sick. I also went to Catholic school and when the kids were not behaving the nuns would put the kid on his knees under a statue and left them there. I had nightmares and would wake up crying, so I was transferred to a public school. The nun had told me I would go to h*ll.I also had karate classes as I was never really a fighter .It did not help much as I would not defend himself.
Ten years after I was born a little baby sister was born and I was crazy about her. I was an inventive kid. One day I had a carton box and was making wings for it and a little wheel .when finished I said “Mom open the window, I am going to fly. There were so many incidents but these are just a few.
I went to high school and after that became a sheet metal apprentice. I got a job at A.W. Henley Machine & Tool and worked there for 18 years. I married in 1976. After 18 years of marriage I divorced. It took a couple of years to get it all together. I had 3 back operations and am still fighting to have this WSIB file re-opened.
Then I met Yvette and they are already 10 years together. We go through thick and thin. At times to keep myself busy, I started a cigarette tin foil ball. I have got so many friends to save the foil and started it the day I met Yvette. The ball is now about 43lbs, so save your empty packs as this is going into the Guinness Book of Records. I try to be a very caring person and if I have some problems that I cannot resolve myself then I always have Yvette who is also my best friend.
