Hi all The 10 Ways to Recognize Post-traumatic Stress Disorder listed are only a starting base for recognition and early counseling is necessary for even the mildest case. There are many ways to deal with those this (could be deadly for some) and if you are going through and or know someone that is, then it is advisable to check the links that Kathy has posted. ---------------------------------- Place a FREE AD on me: http://FreeAdTraffic.com 10,500 Free HITS from this link: Massive Traffic for FREE http://freetrafficbar.com/virtual.php?p=22&ref=58734 FREE: Multiply Your Advertising Results By Thousands With Your Ad Listed On 5635+ Sites! Hello Kathy, thank you for the invite to this interesting forum. Working for the emergency services I am oh so familiar with PTS. It can be years down the line after a particular incident that a trigger sets off the nightmares. An example was a Fireman who went to a Major Incident involving a train crash. He carried on and did his duty. Afterwards he put on brave face and continued his life as normal. 10 years later after his loyal service to the Fire Dept he collapsed with a nervous breakdown. After receiving counselling and support it was traced back to the train incident. Something had triggered off the PTS. Victims of PTS should be allowed to release the nightmares in whatever way they can. Be it writing them down or attending group therapy sessions. It must be got out of the system early to avoid problems down the line. May I take this opportunity Kathy to pay tribute to all emergency service workers who in my mind are the true hero's today.
