The result of the challenges in my present life would, to many peoples perspective, appear to be failure, but the points that you raise make it obvious to me that I have much success.
Happiness is the result of a good life and I realise that when, I manage to swallow the false pride that the aquisition of materials has given me, I am still left with a pride in my modest acheivements, so my loss of much of my things really isn't important.
I am reminded of those in Java and other parts of the world who are sorely challenged by natures forces but I know that the power of love will soon bring even these poor people back to a realisation that there is almost always something to give thanks for.
I thank God that through his love we can expect an eternity of happiness in his presence.
