LOL, I think you, Gary and I share a strong sense of righteous indignation, particularly in defense of people who can't or don't have the opportunity to defend themselves. While I'm not likely to go around knocking people's blocks off (even if I could), I've been known to make them wish that's what I had done.
The worst thing you can do in response to these failures, in my opinion, is fail to speak up. If you don't let people know exactly what they have done to offend you and what action you will take as a result, they will continue to behave in the same way. I believe that it's never too late for someone to learn a different way. And if nothing else, maybe you'll be the instrument of some future customer receiving somewhat better treatment.
Admittedly, I have something in my nature that likes to see someone receive their comeuppance, even if that includes violence. It's a flaw I'm trying to suppress, lol.
