Assessing Your Knowledge and Skills ...
4/23/2006 2:24:25 PM
My next topic is 'Assessing you knowledge and skills". We will look at your strengths and weaknesses to see how to approach making you a blogging expert. We have to identify first that, yes, there are certain skills needed to blog but everyone has them, just that some have them better than others. And that is ok. Once I finish here you'll see there is more than one way of doing the same thing. There are many types of blogs. We have Social/Cultural, Spiritual, News, Reference, Hobbies, Business, Music, Art, Auto, Rantings, Horsebreeding, Pets, Construction tips, Money/Investing and much, much more. Let's start by asking of yourself "How well can I write?" Answers are: Very well, well enough, did it only to pass school or I still carry a stick and stone tablet. Have I a sense of humor? Y/N Is it: witty, sarcastic, dry, ironic, what are you talking about? I have had my writings published by someone else. Y/N I am fluent in writing of these languages: ______________________ I am fluent in using these computer skills: html, webmaster, CSS, SEO, PHP, PERL, Red Hat, Java, Javascript, Linux, ASP, .net, Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, Acrobat, Flash, Movie Maker and more. I have written programs or scripts that others have used or are using. Y/N I take great digital photos. Y/N I can create pro quality graphics. Y/N Here's the graphics software I am familiar with and use. ____________________ My graphical artwork is being used by others. Y/N Now ask yourself: What are people consistantly asking my opinion about? ____________________ I have so many stories about ____________________ I know more about this than anybody else. ____________________ People would or do pay for my knowledge of ____________________ We have labeled your strengths and should be able to now catagorize what you can blog about. Remember, even if you feel you don't fit a certain catagory then one can be created and you become a leader in that field. An example, Let's say that your knowledge and skills lean toward basketball and being of musical talent. Have you ever thought that the two could be crossed together? Consider this wacky idea. A bunch of people that play basketball and enjoy music and have had experience with an instrument at one time will possess enough skills to create a musical group that can be choreographed with basketballs and a few props to create a show. Don't laugh. It has been done. A group called STOMP uses more than just basketballs; thay have used the kitchen sink! This group has performed around the world and sells out everywhere they go. This is stuff that can be talked about to come up with the next MILLION DOLLAR IDEA! Just need to know if others have similar interests. This is identified as overlapping skills to create a unique blog. But, let's say you are more into collecting Delbert cartoons and really are not a good writer. You could start an information blog on the cartoon's creator, the history of it, what publications it appears in and so forth. You could start a fan club on this for all of Delberts fans to gather together and discuss their views. You will need to choose your blog topic carefully. You want your content to stay focused so the readers will return over and over again, becoming part of the blog. So choose a topic you have passion for. The next post will cover on developing your blog theme. __________ Some success blogs: http://www.bizzyblogz.com/bizymommie/ http://www.bizzyblogz.com/jeffreyobrien http://www.bizzyblogz.com/Motorcross http://www.bizzyblogz.com/Taxes http://www.bizzyblogz.com/ThoughtsForFood/ Kenneth R Sword Jr Co-CEO - Bizzy Blogz http://www.bizzyblogz.com/krsword/ http://www.bizzyblogz.com/AutoBlogAds/ http://www.bizzyblogz.com/TopJVSecrets/ http://www.bizzyblogz.com/YourOwnArticles/ http://www.bizzyblogz.com/PrivateLabelBooks/ http://www.bizzyblogz.com/PrivatelLabelAudioBooks/ New!
