Hi Dave, Thanks for the great information, dont get me wrong, I am not totally against logging, we have some good company's and bad here as well. I too use the logging roads to get to some of my favorite places. The Australian bush also thrives after a burn, I'll always be 'green' one day I'd like to see Canada's wilderness. Besides New Zealand it's the only other country I'd like to see. Thanks Leanne Busby Put yourself on my Map http://www.frappr.com/riverrat66

Hi Leanne, It seems we have a common interest, indeed! I have always wanted to visit New Zealand, and, of course, Australia. While I do not consider myself an environmentalist, I do consider myself a "green" ecologist. I love to see things growing and thriving in a natural environment, and truly hate to see wanton destruction. God bless, Dave

Hi Dave, I know thew Pt. Carling area very well. Algonquin however is dying of these days, it is still popu;ar and used quite a bit but the natural habitat has been dep[eleted over the years and does not support mans activities as it once used to. Now we find more remotness in Quetico and Woodland Caribou. You are correct in the water levels as with the current climate changes (7 degrees warmer on average) the low water levels are everywhere. You can avoid a certain amount of that in a solo canoe as the added flotation rigging and balance of one person can make up for some low water. I am pleased to know I brought back some fond memories for you.
