"My Target Market"
My Target Market business report. In this report I will be sharing with you what is know of target market. Your target market is the protencial customers you hope to reach though your marketing effort. The better you are able to understand these people the more sales you will make.
The target market for each product, company, or service is different. Although you can learn from your competers some of the work you need to do yourself.
First you must have knowlegde about the produt or service that you are marketing. Whitout you knowing what benefits your product or service has to offer it is nearly imposible for you to idinfie your target market.
With this in mind I want you to focus on the word "your". It is your product, and your service and your target market you must understand and fine.
The other thing you will need to use with finding your target market is, your marketing plan. Is your business, product, and or service an online business or off line, and where will you be focusing your marketing efforts on.
In finding your target market you can think of it as if you are going on a hunting trip. Then for now without know the certian game your hunting for you would have to carry a a selection of guns so you are prepared for anything.
But for this business report we will only focus on two tryps of guns.
One is the shotgun and the other the rife. Now both have the ability to kill almost any type of game. However they work and are used differently.
The shotgun works great for short range hunting where there is a lot of brush and poor visabilty. The rife is more for long range shots where there is little or no brush to deflect the shot.
When finding your tartget market almost everyone needs to start with a shotgun approach. You start wide spread just like a shotgun shoots it patteren of shots. Then as the brush is cleared you can then reach for the rifle. You have idinified your target and can see it clearly you know exacly how to hit the target.
As you start off to idenife your target market you may not know much about the people you are trying to reach. Thus we use the shot guns effect, we are shoting at anything that moves. Hoping we hit our target.
Now lets say your marketing budget is very limited because most home business owners this is true of. So, while working on your marketing plan you have decide to do on line marketing and even then it will have to be cheap or inexpencive ways to advertive.
Some other factors that can effect your results is your main site or where you send your target market people to see your information about your product or service. This is what I mean by saying this.If you have a really nice flase presatation, I mean you love it! The music is great the message clear, the graphics are just awesome.
You go to the site and bamb it downloads and is playing great. What you have not thought about is your on DSL connection to the internet. So yes, your download time is very short compared to someone using dial up conections.
Now this is Shotgun effect, we are talking about here. You going to research a broad question "Who uses the internet" Please don't say everyone here! If you really want to find your target market.
During your research you will find some very interesting facts.
Some will be which countries has the most users, how many web pages are launched each day. The ages of the users the spending power of the users. How long a user is willing to wait for a page to down load. How many people uses DSL vs. Dial up.
What this has to do with your target market is this. Let us say you only have a flash site. In your research of who uses the internet you find that there 879,386,453 users world wide. You also find out the 87% of those users are still on dail up and the average time a user is willing to wait for a a page to down load is 6 seconds. These are shotgun or general facts but you can use them if you understand how to.
You go to you neighbors that is on dial up and type your web address in their browser and click go. Well you get a blank white page and 38 seconds later you page background color appears. Thin a full minute and half later the download is completed and your flash presantation that you loved so much starts to play.
What does this mean to you? Well, it should mean to you that you can use these facts to start your rifle affect. But only on these facts so far.
If your marketing on line and looking to define your target market you know out of 879,386,543 users is your target market. You know because you are using a flash site that takes way to long to down load for users that are on dial up you will have to either DSL users only or make some changes to your site.
I can be asure you if someone is on dial up unless they really want the information you have to offer they will never see your flash presantation that you have to offer them. I don't care how much you love it.
So, even with this broad ,general, shotgun information you can see you will have to make some changes. Now, if your company who's product or service is not willing to provide you with a static site or web page it maybe money well spent to make one yourself. A static page or site is simply an html web page with out all the graphics, bells, buttons and whistles. The load fast and you are shooting at under 6 seconds. The smaller the page weight in kegabites the faster it loads. So very picture you use need to be small or light weight.
Even if you create a page that you tell your visitors that you are sending then to your flash site and it takes time to download please be pasient. You would be less likey to lose the sale. I hope you see the rife affect here. You have narrowed your target market with out yet knowing exacely who they are.
The next information you want to try to get, and I say try be cause it is so gaurded and hard to fine out. Is who is buying your product already. Now don't you think the person that selling dodge cars would love to know who is buying new Ford cars in twon before they buy? Sure they would, but do you think Ford dealers would share that information with the Dodge dealer. Not likely!
This is where understanding your product and its benefits comes into play. As I said the more you understand about this the better you can refine your target nmarket and how you define them. That is what your doing now.
So for this report and you becuse you are getting it as a part of one of the Johnny's Millioniare Club product kits which you will be selling we will use it as our product.
You already know it is a work at home opportunity so lets start there.
Now we coulp it with the fact that the oportunity is US only at least in the begining.

Now armed with these numbers we are getting a better picture of our target market.Some reports say there ia a total of 40 million home based business in the USA as of the end of 2005.
Now the shotgun affects is shoot to hit 159 internet users and the rifle effect is to shoot to hit the 40 million people that are aready in some type of home business. In doing this we also need to know that 95 % of people in MLM never makes any money. So they are in your target market.
About the same number of people in home business make little or know money. The numbers vary some say 87% other 95% make no money. Yet others reports that 50% of home business owners are making between 50 and 70 k a year. The ponit is when you narrow you scope on a target you have to narow your marketing as well.
You see how we are doing and you see there are plenty of prospects to go around. The is 1 billion baby boomers in the world and every 8 second one of the retire and will for the next 20 years. These people 45-65 are also the ones that controls the most money. In many cases the are looking for an affordable easy to do work from home business to build some more retirement income, or pay off debts before retirement. So the ones in the USA ia in your target Market.
A market that is over looked in the USA is the people from 21 to 35 years old. They have very little knowledge of home business and net working. There is a market that is inside of this market that is a great target market. Especially because you have 4 levels of kits to offer them from 35.00 to 550.00. These are college students. They will more than likely not buy the 550.00 level kit. But may want 35.00-125.00-or 250.00 levels. They don't have much time. But when they see you can make money by just sharing information with their fellow students they are open to look. You may want to approach them off line with your offer. When they see you can make a sale and get paid over and over by the newest person passing their first sale to them they get excited.Most student are going to school on loans. Loans they are woring about paying back.
You can do you own research on these facts as well and I suggest that you do. For now you should be armed with enough information to start defining your target market. I will give you one other fact here . It is reported by some companies that there are 175,000 new people looking to start a new home business each week in the USA.
There is no reason you can't find a few people to get to join you in Johnny's Millionaires Club at some level. Your target market to start with is should be Baby Boomers people 45-65 years old that use the internet. You focus should include women in this age range that are in a home business or looking to get into one. In your target market you can also focus on people that are now in or once was in MLM companies and other home businesses. Remeber the % of people that are making little or no money?

Of course why would anyone want to stop making sales or money?
Now that you have the start of your target market you can refine it even more as you start to make sales by asking your customers a few questions. Like the age, sex, what they did for a living before JMC. This information will be general and simply if they want to share it with in conversation or meeting them in person if you work localy. However after a while you will see a patern of the people that are joining you. That is when you can refine your target market and when you do this you will make even more sales and more money.
