Dear Kathy, OK, here goes....I think that on one hand we have to have a way to keep 9/11 from happening again, but on the other hand I fear that while being a well intentioned piece of legislation it opens an opportunity for abuse if mis-used by our government. Dear Shannon, You hit the nail on the head! Could it be that too many rich Texas companies hire illegals? I worked as the senior accountant for a Houston, Texas Homebuilder (435 houses under construction) and when I went to him and asked why so many people had the same social security, he just looked at me and said, "I did not hear you say that!" Well, he is now retired and living on Caman Island with all his off-shore money!!!!! Of course the argument is that immigrant workers do jobs that Americans don't want. It seems to me that when we have out-sourced all of our better paying jobs Americans just might NEED this low paying jobs back. So for more than one reason I think our borders are too free and open! And of course I know that all Americans are thrilled to have our ports run by foreign companies. I don't care if the management company is British or UAE....seems that some US company could do the job! How is that for controversy, Kathy? Margaret

Let me see; I believe it goes like this: "people who give up their rights for security have neither." What is the strategy? Make the citizens afraid and then pass laws the allow us (the government) to trash the constitution legally. All this so that the ultra rich get more while the rest of us get the shaft.
