Welcome Ken (thread about my new website)
2/26/2006 12:03:54 PM
Hi Ken; Welcome - good to see you post and welcome to my forum! I enjoy seeing new friends join in. Gee, you live in one of my favorite cities to visit. I love the feel of St. Louis. It's so friendly. I like shopping at the mall in the old train station. : ) ========================================== I think it looks like a really GOOD Site, One I will add to my roster! ========================================== Thank you... I appreciate that! ========================================== You need to get all the bugs out. It makes it easier for the search engines. Also customers are more likely to visit a site that works. Retroweeds has been on the net for several years and has had mild success, but always needs tweaking. I would find a geek to answer your questions. I use the peck & swear method of webdesign. The only drawback is the learning curve. Still GOOD JOB!! ========================================== I'm in luck because I, myself, AM the geek who can answer the questions. Although it does bring up a funny story. A couple of years ago, one of the Hollywood Celebs that I did a site for was in Toronto shooting a movie. So, we met for dinner. Later that evening, my phone rang. I picked it up and it was her again. She said she wanted to tell me something that she didn't say at dinner. Then, her voice dropped to a whisper. "Linda, you don't LOOK like a geek at all." she said. Boy, did I laugh. Have a peek at my site (LindaCaroll.com)... you'll see I'm in good hands. lol. : ) Linda Peck and swear is a GREAT term. lol. I write code by hand, so I can truly relate!

Hi Martha; ========================================== I like the look of the site. Reminds me of old comic books. ========================================== Thanks! That's the look I was going for. Retro. Old fashioned. It's the whole symbolism aspect of the "how about a little old fashioned honesty" concept. I like that you noticed that. : ) ========================================== Read everything you have on it so far and looks to be very informative. I'm sure I will be signing up to be an affiliate and chances are Levi will too. ========================================== Well thanks! And, once you've finished the "make money online course" that you six are testing for me, you can speak from knowledge about what it did for you, too. ; ) Linda

I too like the "Pinhead" page...hahaha. ========================================== Thanks, Angela! I'm sure enjoying the reactions to the "Dear Pinhead" page. lol : ) Linda

Hi Linda, Thanks for the clarification. I went back and read the articles that were up after reading your forum here. The site makes much more sense to me now. Hopefully you will not have too many people seeing too much information on one page and leave without reading some of the sample articles. David

Hi David ========================================== Thanks for the clarification. I went back and read the articles that were up after reading your forum here. The site makes much more sense to me now. Hopefully you will not have too many people seeing too much information on one page and leave without reading some of the sample articles. ========================================== You're very welcome. And welcome back, by the way. :) I think what people tend to do is zero in on what catches their eye first - and from there, they check out some of the other links. Peeking into my stats, I see that the most popular pages (by views) not including the main page, which is where everyone starts, seem to be opinions, pet health, make money online, weight loss, and then the pinhead letter. I'm was really happy to see that 20% of visitors added the site to their bookmarks. That's a way cool bonus! So, point being, I hope the varied content allows me to catch people's eye based on what interests them - and draws them in from there. : ) Linda
