Morning Musings BC (Before Coffee): This thing called 'life' is made up of so many pieces.
I think Dickens was speaking a large truth when, in "A Christmas Carol", he had Scrooge say to Marley's ghost, I believe, “You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!”
Sure, there's really big things and really important things that directly and indirectly affect our lives, but, so often, we cannot really do anything about those. Oh, we can help get out the vote, write letters to governmental representatives, join groups with purposes similar to ours, but, once we've done that, unless we are willing and able to run for, and win, the big offices, we've done what we can.
However, that's not to say, "Don't do it."
If you feel better trying to do SOMETHING about the big stuff, then do what you can. Feeling like you've done SOMETHING is good. Even if you can't change big stuff, you CAN change small stuff, the near stuff.
Make the world a better place...around you.
Make people happier...around you.
They're choking on "...an undigested bit of beef..." just like you. Feed 'em some good stuff and maybe you'll find yourself choking less...and maybe seeing fewer ghosts.
