Hi Larry,
Stephen is finally home. We are still packing, and hopefully we will have enough gas to get most of the way moved.
I got a wheelchair ('bout time), and we are working on his exercises to keep from getting bloodclots in his legs, since they stopped the shots a couple of days ago. He is only on Zantac, and takes melatonin to help him sleep at night without nightmares.
We found out just how difficult the house we are in is. We cannot get the wheelchair to the bathroom without taking it apart some, nor to his bedroom. Guess it's a good thing we are moving. He will have more access to getting around independently as possible. Although the hospital wouldn't help us get a shower chair or bedside toilet, we are doing what we can to get through. I just hope he can walk soon, because my back won't be able to take all the lifting.
I am just thankful he's home. Now things are a bit more "normal" with the family together.
We'll be out of here, with whatever we can fit in the truck, tomorrow after I get a handicap tag for the car. I hope it doesn't cost anything for that, since we are still about $200 short on gas money. My mom donated the food and drink we will need on the road, then everything will depend on Vermont generosity. We'll see how far God takes us beyond what we are able to provide.
I am a true believer that God helps those who help themselves, but there is only so much we can help before we start panicking!! lol
Thanks for your patience and generosity in helping our family. You are a true friend.
Lola Vanslette
