I had a phone call from a friend today who needed to be reminded how to pick herself up for feeling lonely and sad. I remembered what many of my teachers have taught me over the years and I put it into an affirmation for my friend....
I choose to find a thought that feels better.
Whenever we are feeling less than joyful or hopeful or happy, we can turn ourselves around by remembering this simple statement...
I choose to find a thought that feels better.
For example, when you are feeling lonely or depressed or angry or frustrated, it is a simple practice to find a thought that feels better - and any thought works.
Like... I choose to see the beauty in the tree outside my window.
Or... I choose to be grateful for this food in my refrigerator or this lovely carpet under my feet.
See what I mean?
We can always find a thought that feels better.
So whenever you find yourself feeling in a way that does not make you happy, CHOOSE to find a thought that feels better.
Any thought... and watch what happens.
And while you are finding that thought that feels better - SMILE - and LAUGH - even if you have to pretend at first and it WILL make you feel better.
