Did you see David Letterman’s final episode?
After 6,000 shows, the king of late-night TV said farewell to his audience.
His show always aired after my bedtime, but I was curious about what he might say in his “final words.”
And I loved what he did.
What he said wasn't as memorable as when Johnny Carson bid us all good night after hosting the Tonight Show for over 30 years.
What he said didn't make you cry like Jay Leno’s farewell.
But what he said is instructive to anyone who is SERIOUS about making a quantum leap in their income and influence as an author, speaker, expert or entrepreneur.
Unlike his predecessors, Letterman spent most of his time introducing and personally thanking many of the people behind-the-scenes who had helped make him a success.
He went on and on without a punch line just giving sincere thanks.
Truth is it made for some boring TV. But it WAS the right thing to do.
