A Young Thomas Edison

Hello!

In 1847, in a tiny village in northern Ohio, Samuel and Nancy had a little baby, Thomas. Their seventh baby, in fact. Like most families back then, everything was a struggle. At an early age, young Thomas was stricken with Scarlet Fever and left partially deaf. In school, he was so distracted, he only lasted three months and had to be home schooled.

As he grew up, he took what jobs he could, eventually selling candy and newspapers. He brought on a few assistants, and eventually formed a company that printed his own publication.

This was his first of fourteen businesses!

One of whom you may have heard of… GE, or, General Electric. Yes, young Thomas was actually Thomas Edison, who went on to produce a string of inventions, not the least of which was the practical lightbulb.

But you may have also heard that Edison’s first lightbulb didn’t work. Neither did the second, or the third. In fact, just like with his many businesses, Edison needed many tries to get that lightbulb to work.

He once famously said, "I haven't failed. I’ve found 10,000 ways that won’t work."

Thomas Edison, despite personal and professional challenges, refused to give up. He believed in himself, and in his vision.

That’s what you need to do. Believe in yourself. Believe in your vision... that entrepreneurial spirit that tells you can make a difference in other people’s lives.

Keep working on that vision, working to make it a reality. When you’re ready to pull it all together and build that dream, SiteSell will be there to help you every step of the way.
