I remember a similar story, shared when I use to work at VAMC-Atlanta. Lots of HUMOR was share from Veterans and co-workers. The version shared was as follows: There was a flood in a community and a man was trapped at his house; 1st a fishing boat full of people stopped to help ... he told them to go on, he would wait for the LORD to save him; the water got higher so the man climbed on his roof; a ship was near him and he was offered a life raft to help him get aboard the ship ... again the man said, "I am waiting for the LORD to save me; the flood waters got higher and the man drowned. He arrived at the gates of heaven and immediately complained; I waited for the LORD to save me and he did now show up. The gate keeper replied, He did show up twice to help you. He sent a fishing boat and a ship, what else was HUMANLY possible to rescue you from rising water?
