Hi Mike, Here are verses from the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) that say it is better to Trust in the LORD than in man: Psalms 118:8-9 NKJV 8) It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. 9) It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.
Here is food for thought: The word "the LORD" is translating the Hebrew word YHWH, which is the name of God. In the older Catholic Bibles, this word is translated YAHWEH. What the translators have done is made God GENERIC. The LORD is so Impersonal. There is a proliferation of "LORD" --- The LORD of the Rings --- for example. According the New Testament, Jesus taught a prayer: Matthew 6:9-10 NKJV 9) In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10) Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
We cannot hallow "His name" if we do not know it ... Ricky Samson
