“Home is Where I am”

Alicia Hanlen, RScP

Alicia Hanlen, RScP in Taos, New Mexico A Healing Place

Today I am struck by the idea of being home, at home in my environment, in my own skin, in whatever physical place where I reside. For it stirs deep within my soul that remembrance of my place, my destiny, my ultimate place in the order of the Universe. For wherever Life is, so, too am I. However my experiences show up, I am given the opportunity to rise to the occasion to be my very best, to shine the Light from within to the outer circumstances, even to the darkest corners. Today I resonate with that deep understanding of the very nature of my being, and the very essence of my connection with Life – all of Life. In my work, in my community, my family life, my church and social groups – we all come together for the high purpose of allowing our lights to shine, to assist each other, to be of service

Little by little, I am able to let go of expectations, of the concepts of “right” versus “wrong”, and just allow, simply be, at home in all circumstances. Oh yes indeed, it is a journey, with many and diverse hills and valleys. Challenges, hopes, sorrow and joy all are part of the journey, part of the experience. But always and forever, I know, and I rejoice in this knowing, that I am home. At home with Spirit, with Life, with myself.

The gratitude fills me up, pressed down and yet overflowing, to be on this journey we call Life. I look into the eyes of those I encounter on my way through my experiences, and Spirit made manifest looks back upon me. In whatever way may be appropriate, I respond – with a smile, a hug, a tear, a word of encouragement, a silent acknowledgement. So joyous is this encounter, this experience, this day! My heart swells with the blessings of the day, as the love flows to and through me.

I am at home with Life.
