Connected Underwear Will Turn You On

Black-panties

LAS VEGAS — Ladies, your lacy underwear is about to get a whole lot smarter. Connected sex toy company OhMiBod announced at the 2014 International CES show in Las Vegas on Monday panties that can be controlled by a partner.

In line with the wearable technology trend, the blueMotion massager ($129) aims to give women pleasure with the help of its accompanying iOS or Android app. Vibrations can be controlled for solo play or by another user nearby.

"It's a really fun way to control vibrations without anyone knowing what you're doing because the remote is on your phone," Brian Dunham, who founded OhMiBod along with his wife Suki, toldMashable. "Technology can drive couples apart, but this is using technology and gadgets to bring them closer together."

Dunham said he and Suki came up with the concept when they noticed they were spending too much time on their smartphones and less time being intimate. The couple has a full line of high-tech OhMiBod sex toys, including vibrators that align to the beat and rhythm of your favorite music, so the move into the wearable tech space was a natural progression.

The vibrator has a Bluetooth chip inside it, which slides into the front of the blue panty. The motor reacts to the remote app controls and takes advantage of built-in smartphone features, including accelerometer, touch screen and volume controls. The app has to be within Bluetooth range for it to sync with the panties in real time.

"We're working to bring long distance to the app now and should have that up and running by the summer," he said.

BlueMotion can also record ambient sound up to 60 seconds. This means a partner could record songs or say phrases such as "I love you" to create a unique vibrating pattern.

"The recording function gives you a lot of room for creativity," Dunham said. "It makes the whole experience completely customizable too."

The product, which hits the market in March, is one size fits all.

This bike could purify the air as you ride it

Obviously riding a bike is better than driving a car because, among other things, bikes don’t emit greenhouse gases or other poisons. But what if bikes could actually reverse pollution, by sucking in smog and pumping out clean air?

It’s theoretically possible, according to the group of Thai engineers and designers responsible for this concept bike.

The air-purifier bike currently exists only in concept, developed by Bangkok’s Lightfog Creative & Design Company. In theory, its aluminum frame would run on a “photosynthesis system” that generates oxygen through a reaction between water and electric power from a lithium-ion battery.

All they have so far is an (award-winning) mockup, no prototype, and there are still a lot of unanswered questions, says Co.Exist:

While the air purifier bike might exist comfortably as an idea, reality could challenge the ease of operating such a fleet. There would be the question of where to charge the batteries, for one, and where byproducts, (like sugar, perhaps), might go.

Still, it’s at least within the realm of possibility that your bike might someday make the environment actively better, instead of just making it less worse.

"The first thing that we want you to understand is that spirit has no color or race to it. It doesn't matter whether your skin is white, black, red, brown - whatever. No one out there is any better than you, and you are no better than anyone else out there."
-- John Peters (Slow Turtle), WAMPANOAG

We are all created to be of equal worth. We may be different sizes, different heights, different ages, different colors, we may have different beliefs and be of different cultures. In the unseen world, we are all spirit formed into different shapes and colors but we are all worthy. For example, you can have water, you can have steam, or you can have ice. Which of these is not made up of H2O?

My Creator, today, let me see equal worthiness in all people.

"WE DIDN'T DESIGN IT TO BE COOL," COMPANY FOUNDER PAUL ELIO SAID. "IT WAS COOL BY ACCIDENT."

Three-Wheeled, $6,800 Car Set for 2015 Release

Elio Motors' futuristic two-seater boasts ultra-high fuel economy and an ultra-low price tag while employing no new technologies.

LAS VEGAS - The sleek three-wheeled car looks futuristic, but, as its creator acknowledges, it uses no new technology.

What makes the Elio Motors vehicle unique is its ultra-high fuel economy and an ultra-low price tag: $6,800.

The vehicle, which was on display at the Showstoppers startup showcase on the sidelines of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, promises to deliver as much as 84 miles per gallon of gasoline for highway driving.

It accelerates as quickly as many cars on the road--to 100 miles per hour in 9.6 seconds, according to the company. Urban fuel economy is estimated at 49 miles per gallon.

Company founder Paul Elio said he came up with the idea because "I got mad about seeing all this wealth leave the country" for imported petroleum.

An engineer by training, Elio began the firm in 2008 and recently took over an abandoned General Motors (IW 500/5) plant in Louisiana--one that had been producing the gas-guzzling Hummer.

In order to deliver the best fuel economy, the car has a cockpit wide enough only for the driver, with a passenger seat in the rear. It has two wheels in front and tapers in the rear to a single wheel.

"Front-to-back seating, that's the key to mileage," Elio told AFP.

This makes it principally a one-person car, but Elio said the vehicle is a good solution for the millions who drive along to work or leisure events.

Elio readily admits there is no special technology in the car--it has a three-cylinder internal combustion gasoline engine, power windows, air conditioning and anti-lock brakes. While it does not have some of the on-board electronic gadgety found in other vehicles, drivers can connect their smartphones for navigation, apps and more.

"This was a design completely based on existing engineering," says company spokesman Jim Andrews.

The car has a top crash-impact rating from the National Highway Transportation Safety Board, and is expected to meet all U.S. safety standards.

Elio is targeting the U.S. market but hopes to eventually ship internationally.

He has more than 6,000 orders from customers who have paid a deposit, and hopes to start delivering in the first quarter of 2015.

He also plans to speak with major automakers, including Chrysler, about possible partnerships.

It's not clear how much of an impact the Elio vehicle will have, but it comes after a sizzling debut for another startup carmaker, Tesla, which sells a $70,000 electric car.

Other three-wheelers may be in the words as well: a three-wheel concept car from Toyota was on display at the huge electronics exhibition.

Elio said he is encouraged by the response to the car.

"We didn't design it to be cool," he said. "It was cool by accident."
