The worlds biggest airplane
As big as the country it came from, the Antonov An-225 Mrya is the biggest airplane in the world.
Made in the USSR in 1988, it is the world’s heaviest aircraft with a total weight of 640 tonnes.
Originally designed to carry space shuttles, the Antonov An-225 had it’s first flight on December 21st 1988.
The word “Mrya” actually means “Dream” or “Inspiration” in Ukranian, but the plane is also known by it’s NATO reporting name – Cossack.

Quote:Argentavis: the largest flying bird ever!!The largest bird to fly, Argentavis magnificens, was believed to have flown like a high-performance glider, according to experts. This bird was believed to have lived 6 million years ago in Argentina. It was close to the size of a Cessna 152 airplane. As NPR reports, this bird was rather like "a bald eagle with wings that stretch for 21 feet from tip to tip and feathers the size of Samurai swords." It is believed to have soared on the winds like a glider and could reach speeds of up to 150 mph. Experts are still not sure how it achieved landing and takeoff.
Amazing,
What an incredible bird.
I'm glad not to have met one.
