(Gunsnfreedom.com) Connecticut anti-gun politicians have a problem. After passing laws last year that require every gun owner who has a “high capacity” magazine or so called “assault weapon” to register those items with the state many refused to do so.

It has been estimated that anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000 gun owners refused to register their guns with their anti-gun government and many think those numbers could even be higher. This mass refusal to obey unconstitutional gun laws has surprised Connecticut officials. Perhaps they were expecting law abiding gun owners to willingly forfeit their rights while criminals did whatever they wanted.

There have been varying opinions on why so many have refused to register their firearms. Some say it is because of a mass revolt and others blame it on ignorance, since some may not know the law even went into effect.

Either way, one editorial writer for the Hartford Courant is calling for these CT gun owners to be hunted down and arrested for breaking the new law.

Although willful noncompliance with the law is doubtless a major issue, it’s possible that many gun owners are unaware of their obligation to register military-style assault weapons and would do so if given another chance.
But the bottom line is that the state must try to enforce the law. Authorities should use the background check database as a way to find assault weapon purchasers who might not have registered those guns in compliance with the new law.
A Class D felony calls for a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Even much lesser penalties or probation would mar a heretofore clean record and could adversely affect, say, the ability to have a pistol permit.
If you want to disobey the law, you should be prepared to face the consequences.

I would add to this writer’s comments, if you want to pass unconstitutional laws you should be prepared to face the consequences as well. You can be sure that gun owners in CT will either be voting against these anti-gun politicians or moving out of the so called “constitution state”.

Polluters to face harsher penalties

Beijing promised harsher punishments on Thursday for those responsible for noxious air pollution, as residents breathed a sigh of relief after the thick smog that had shrouded the city for a week dissipated.

The capital will outline stricter and more detailed punishments for violators of the Beijing Air Pollution Prevention Regulation, which will come into effect on March 1.

The regulation will give more authority to environmental departments, said Yan Xiangyang, deputy head of the environmental monitoring team of the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau.

The regulation, which marks the first time that the city has made air pollution reduction the law, was passed by the city's legislature at the end of its people's congress plenary session. The regulation imposes harsher fines and penalties against violators, Yan said.

Enterprises that discharge pollutants on the roadside without permission will face a fine of up to 200,000 yuan ($32,640), up from 50,000 yuan, the bureau said.

Polluting enterprises that refuse to reduce or suspend their production during serious or severe pollution will be fined up to 500,000 yuan, up from 100,000 yuan.

Repeat offenders will face double punishments after each violation, with no limit on the amount of the fine, it said.

In addition to the fines, enterprises that violate the regulation will have the incidents added to their credit records — a sanction that is expected to lead to more industry self-policing, experts said.

Chai Hefa, chief climate expert at the China Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, applauded the regulation. The credit sanctions are expected to raise the awareness of polluting enterprises and help further reduce polluting emissions, he said.

The monitoring team has inspected more than 900 coal-fired electricity plants since Nov 15, when the city kicked off its heating season and saw more air pollution.

About 80 enterprises were found to have excessive polluting emissions, mostly sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide, and were fined a total of 1.53 million yuan, the monitoring team said.

Beijing has just experienced the longest stretch of smog since it started monitoring the level of PM2.5, or particulate matter with a diameter less than 2.5 micrograms.

The pollution alert was lifted at the stroke of midnight Thursday morning, as a strong cold front finally dispersed the smog that had enveloped the city since Feb 20.

Residents were so happy that many resumed their outdoor activities and posted pictures online of the long-awaited blue sky.

"It's great to breathe without a mask again," said Li Jun, a 27-year-old resident of Chaoyang district. "You learned not to take anything for granted."

Muslim School in UK: No Female Science Teachers Wanted

Some might look at this as a case of the glass being half-empty, but at leastthey’re hiring a science teacher. That’s already progress.

Let’s hope he teaches something besides chemistry.

A Muslim boys’ school is facing claims of segregation after advertising for a temporary science teacher but making clear that women need not apply.
The advert published by the outsourcing company Capita requested a “Male Science Teacher” to cover lessons, including some mathematics classes, until the end of the current academic year on a short term contract for up to £150 a day.
It follows a storm over allegations that non-Muslim female staff at the Al-Madinah free school in Derby had been forced to wear headscarves in line with strict Islamic practices.
But it follows a similar advertisement placed by the Madani Boys School in Leicester last month for the post of “Male Technician” in the IT department.

The trouble is that a lot of these schools receive government funding. Tony Blair began funding Muslim schools, which until then were privately funded, opening up a whole can of worms.

I doubt that a female teacher would be particularly comfortable teaching in this school anyway considering some of the complaints by female teachers in UK Muslim schools. Banning them from putting up such ads or even forcing them to hire female teachers will accomplish nothing because they will simply harass them until they resign.

Personally I think that a school should be able to hire a teacher or any race, sex or religion it wants; but I think the left needs to be honest that such discrimination is a consequence of multiculturalism.

And that’s the important part.

The left pretends that its multicultural system is more inclusive. It’s not. It adds tiers of exclusivity and discrimination.

If you want to fill the country with Muslims from Pakistan, that means that women in the UK will begin experiencing some of the discrimination that women in Pakistan do.

Close-Minded Man Not Even Willing To Hear Out Argument On Why Homosexuality An Abomination

The small-minded man refuses to even entertain the possibility that gays and lesbians are subhuman degenerates.

DULUTH, KS—Claiming it is “impossible” to get him to consider different points of view, exasperated acquaintances of local man Kyle Dunham told reporters Wednesday that the 34-year-old is completely unwilling to listen to even a single argument as to why homosexuality is an abomination.

Sources familiar with the account manager’s maddeningly rigid beliefs said that no matter how patiently and logically they present the extensive evidence demonstrating that gays and lesbians are systematically destroying society, the narrow-minded Dunham simply tunes them out.

“You try to have a rational conversation with him in which you carefully explain, point by point, how the Bible reveals that homosexuality is abhorrent and dangerous, and his eyes just glaze over,” said neighbor Alex Richardson, who told reporters he has never met anyone in his life so resistant to facts that contradicted his preconceived ideas. “Even when I bring up something basic that most informed people agree on—like how a man who lies down with another man is condemned to eternal hellfire—he just shakes his head.”

“I could spend all day calmly and methodically spelling out what befell the Sodomites,” Richardson added. “But it all goes in one ear and out the other.”

Despite intending to do nothing more than engage Dunham in a frank but nonjudgmental conversation about his inflexible views, most of his acquaintances said they could not even broach the possibility that homosexuality was a vile obscenity without being immediately dismissed.

“If you even suggest there’s the slightest chance that gays are deviants who are unequal to heterosexuals, he just puts up this mental barrier,” said Dunham’s brother-in-law, Wayne Byers, who claimed his repeated efforts to educate Dunham about how all gay men are pedophiles was “like talking to a brick wall.” “Once he retreats into that mindset, forget it. You can counter every single one of his arguments with irrefutable Scripture all day, but you’re not getting through. Even when I try to tell him these aren’t just my personal beliefs, but the consensus opinion of leading pastors and radio personalities, he’s still not convinced.”

“Honestly, I think he’s afraid,” added Byers. “Maybe if he opened his mind a tiny, tiny crack, he just might discover that it’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”

Many speculated that Dunham’s obstinate behavior stemmed from an insular childhood spent cloistered exclusively among similarly close-minded individuals. Under these sheltered conditions, acquaintances told reporters, it might actually seem natural for him to doubt that gays and lesbians serve the Devil, that they are intent on converting all young children to homosexuality, or that their sexual orientation is actually a disease.

As a result, some said they tried viewing Dunham’s refusal to acknowledge even the most common-sense facts about homosexuality’s apocalyptic power with understanding and compassion.

“I just try to remind myself that Kyle’s not inherently a bad person, just an ignorant one,” said coworker Cathy Ramirez, who conceded that she occasionally walked away from a conversation with Dunham rather than listen to him repeat the same tired egalitarian talking points over and over. “If I was raised in an environment where I had no choice but to read something other than the Old and New Testament, I might share his same stubborn beliefs.”

But most who have come up against Dunham’s intractability told reporters that their sympathy quickly gives way to frustration.

“I just get so angry when I sit there citing clear-cut evidence like Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:27, and Corinthians 6:9, and I can already tell his mind’s 100 percent made up,” said Dunham’s former college roommate, Nate Dietrich, admitting he often rolls his eyes at the forwarded emails he receives from Dunham that make impassioned claims about homosexuality being a normal, natural behavior. “He’s just so trapped in his little sealed-off world that nothing makes a difference, nothing. I just want to shake him, you know?”

Quote: I had the T.V on and was able to see some of it as I was working on things and my opinion is that a country wanted to put their best foot forward and everyone in the world has noted the [deliberate] omissions of Russia's history. I loved the music..very impressive. The floor show was spectacular ...no doubt It was also noted that seats were empty and not everything was perfect. I have to agree with Thomas Bach's statement of being against any form of discrimination and to favor tolerance. I feel that every country who is a host to these games are going to "slant" their view ..again to put their best foot forward andRussia did a bang up job of omitting chunks of their history. Is this what the Olympic games are about? I guess I am very strange, but to me this is about people from around the world coming together in sport and sportsmanship and I will continue to feel that way. No I do not agree with the different issues of that country..but then I remember Vancouver and the Olympic games here, some of the happenings were not (in my opinion) one of our shining moments. It's very rare that I even talk about politics..it just causes problems, but felt that I should state my thoughts ( this time lol)
