Russian born artist who died at twenty-five. A large number of Bashkirtseff's works were destroyed by the Nazis during World War II.

Hi Roger,

I just went to the Wikipedia page, her works "The Studio" and "The Meeting" are fantastic! Both are very realistic. She probably would have been extremely well-known if she had lived longer. I'm very impressed!

Hi Roger and Kathleen,

I too have just taken a look at the Wikipedia page. Her painting 'In the Studio' is just fabulous. She indeed was a resolute young woman. In the painting she seems to be about to start a fight with the woman behind her. What a pity that she did not live longer than 25. Another great pity is that most of her works were destroyed by the Nazi.
