I once employed a young man who was a direct decendant of this lady. his family had lost many works of art to the Nazis during WWII.

Roger I think the women do a better job on self portrait the the men. The women have a softer look, most of the men look so serious. I know I have said this before. But the faces are better.

It's very interesting. Is is the observation or the way that the artist wants the image to be seen.
