Well Roger and friends, here begins my second revisiting of sources (or is it my third?). It has been difficult but at the same time, fruitful. Nothing to worry about here, only a few works that may be deemed early (from c.1813 to c.1826) and after them, I have only found works from 1840 onwards that have not been included and which at the same time are really worthwhile - in fact, they are exceptional.

Here are the first two
choices, one of approximately 1813, the other of 1815. Both are wonderful.

William Turner - Ivy Bridge, Devonshire
(watercolor on paper, c.1813)

William Turner - Crossing the Brook (oil on canvas, 1815)

My third choice is this extraordinary watercolor of circa 1814, or earlier. Actually the date cannot be known with any degree of certainty except that there is an excellent engraving made after that work in 1814 by William Bernard Cooke, which helps to establish it (view here). I am showing it immediately below.

William Turner - Weymouth, Dorsetshire (watercolor on paper, 1814?)

After Joseph Mallord William Turner - Weymouth, Dorsetshire
(line engraving on paper, 1814)
