God Shots
Nancy Bowers, RScP
I shift into my body,
my consciousness present.
I follow my breath, and find Home.
Goodbye scattered thoughts,
Goodbye anxiety.
For now, we will not speak of yesterday or tomorrow,
what I should have done, what I need to do.
For now, none of that matters
I let it all fall away.
In this moment, all that matters is my love affair.
I am doing God shots – mainlining the Divine
that I might remember who I am.
In meditation, I become the present moment.
In meditation, I return to knowing Truth.
Here, where Love courses through my body,
I know only Peace.
Now, where the exquisiteness of the One Source takes me
I am sated by my hungry lover.
The Divine bathes me in Serenity.
What folly I had played in,
thinking Mi Amor would bestow upon me anything but Heaven.
Did I forget He loves me so deeply that He would give to me all I asked
be it good
be it bad
be it folly?
But forget though I may, I was never in danger.
The game is rigged.
I can never not be what He is.
Though I can wander, I cannot be lost.
God always knows the way.
So today, I let Him lead me.
Today, I return to His tender embrace.
Today, I’m doing God shots,
allowing Divinity to pump my blood.
I’m drunk on the Beauty of Being.
