You are going back a long time now my love - I am 86 I spent 7 years fighting in WWII - was wounded three times and I am still wondering why I survived. Today I have two kids a Daughter 24 just Graduated from Guelph University, is off at the end of the year to South Africa for a three month course with animals and she wants to go to England next year for her Masters.
My Son graduated from college and does not know what he wants he joined the Canadian Reserves saying he must follow me, I had told him the story of my family from back in the year dot we had always had someone in the Military, my father the first man to swim the Nile Delta, my grandfather fought in the Boer War and as far back as the 1740's, and family history has told me that my family being Land Owners were involved in the development of the English Rights Development Act I forget the officual name for it.
So my wife and I are stuck with it - she is Canadian and we both live in Canada in Oshawa, Ontario. She married me after my first wife died, she was Italian, and picked me out I was suffering badly from trauma as I was just taken from my unit and told you cannot fight any more and they sent me to the Eighth Army News a soldiers newspaper produced in Rome, built three businesses sold them to the Americans made my first million in 1974 she died in 1979, I was destroyed went to live in Rome, Italy, I had lived there with her off and on for 32 years of a wonderful life. I talk too much, but your message set me off on a return journey which reminded me of a life and two beautiful, wonderful, marvellous women that recreated me each in its own time that is why I survived.
