Yes Myrna, he loved her so much; and it showed in the many Gala portraits he made over the years. When a fire broke out in 1984 in Dali's room at the stately residence where they had both lived for long, it was said that he had actually tried to commit suicide out of his love for her. The place, known as 'Gala Castle', had been bought by Dali in 1969 in the vicinity of Pubol, Spain.

Here is a lithograph, 'Coronation of Gala', that he made in 1976.

Hi Miguel,

The more I see of Dali the more I like him. You can tell how he loved his wife. I can understand why he pined away after her death.

Miguel,

Another wonderful image of Gala.

His understanding of every technique shows again here.

Yes Roger, he explored all styles and genres and mastered every technique. Here is The Way to Pubol (better known as Gala's Castle at Pubol) painted in 1973.

Dear friends, I would like to bring to your attention some of Dali's later works that have impressed me by both their formal plasticity and almost perfect execution.

This beautiful landscape painting from 1981 is treasured in the Museo Nacional Reina Sofia, in Madrid, Spain.
