Myrna, Apparently Dali was fascinated by nuclear science and the fact that atoms and their parts are suspended in space. Each planet is made up of spheres that are atoms which have particles which in turn have particles all going around each other. As atoms have centres which hold the sphere together then perhaps Dali put his wife Gala at the centre. Also each part of her would be atoms, therefore her hair or fingers or whatever else would be A PART of her. Hope tis helps. Still a great painting. Can you imagine what you have to know about shapes before you can paint this. Roger
