My favourite painted image.

I shall be asking my friends to bring their favourite images here. Just to get things moving here is..............

My favourite painted image.

This took a huge amount of soul-searching. A lot of digging and dumping and a lot of regrets.

BUT

HERE IT IS

.

.

The lovers

Pablo Picasso

*************************

Who ever would have guessed it?

Why?

I love the simplicity.

I love the subtle colour.

I love the subject

and

I love the classical feel and look of the subjects.

The gentleman has an engrossed look of protective concern while the lady looks pensive and seems happy to bathe in the adoration.

The use of minimum line and colour is key to this image's powerful effect.

Like it or not? What's not to love?

Even if it doesn't appeal to you you could more than likely live with it.

I would love to own this work of art but at least I can enjoy a copy care of the internet

I have MANY favourite artists and images but this (different for him) Picasso never ceases to affect me and I never tire of gazing at this picture.

Hi Roger,

I love it because the man looks so concerned and caring for her. To me she looks like she can't believe all the care and concern he is giving her. Her right hand is touching his chest, like does he really feel all these things. While her left hand is on his hand. It looks like they have just been made aware of the love they share for each other.

The bright colors make it come alive and interesting.

Hi Roger,

This is Pinkie (painted by Thomas Lawrence in 1794)

My parents have had a copy of "Pinkie" on their livingroom wall since I was a kid (not with Blue Boy) I always liked looking at her to see if there's a resemblance.

I like your Picasso, it's very colorful and simple, yet their facial expressions are excellent, I like it! It has a very eternal human feel to it without being overdone, also simple without being cartoonish.
