RE: SOUND OFF ON ANY TOPIC YOU WANT TO.

Hello everyone, as I read down through the post history everyday, usually several times a day, I'm seeing a disturbing pattern of some people going into other's forums and publicly calling them out on what ever they happen to be promoting. Whether or not a program is legit needs to be taken up with the individual privately through a pm and not in a public forum and then if the issue isn't resolved, take it up with ALP administration.

Helen I could not agree more with what this gentleman says and someone needs to tell the insurance companies. I kept getting recorded calls from Humana, my insurance carrier, over and over telling me that a yearly physical was included in my benefits but I never did go although I do have to have blood work done every six months for my thyroid and I also have another minor problem or two that I see a doctor for every so often. It's good to know they're there if you need them but I know people who never go to the doctor and one in particular, who had not been to a doctor in years, had to get one for his primary care doctor after he retired and went on Medicare. Now how stupid is that??

Hi Evelyn

That is strange that an insurance company would want you to get a yearly physical so much that they even call you about it. Something is fishy. Usually insurance companies just want your money but don't want you to take advantage of the 'benefits' because the less you use the health care it covers, the less it costs them. Very strange.

I haven't gone to a doctor for 11 years but when I do it would only be to find out what is wrong and then I head to the internet or my favorite MLM company or a health food store to find out what natural health herb or supplement I need to take. I've seen these work many times to take care of a medical problem. If the doctor wants to write me a prescription I let him but I usually never fill it. I am not saying this to say how wonderful I am. (Psst ..I know I am wonderful but I don't want you tell everyone :)) I am mentioning what I do as it may help someone else.

Another thing, I don't always wait until something goes wrong. I take herbs and supplements on a regular basis as prevention ...as I am sure many others do as well. The pharmaceutical companies hate people like us. Yesssss! When they hate me, I know I am doing the right thing.

Helen their theory, so they say, is to try and keep us healthy so we won't need more expensive treatments. My insurance carrier even pays for a free gym membership and I went for a while but there are too many retirees here and the gym was always packed and I got tired of standing around waiting for a machine to use so I quit going.

Hi again

Well, that is really interesting especially the gym membership. I didn't know that ...learn something new everyday. They should supply everyone with good quality supplements while they are at it. If they knew what they did for people, they probably would supply them. It would be easy to find out how effective they might be. They could first supply them to a test group for a year, for example.

You should try to put this idea to them because if their costs go down, it could also make your premium costs go down. Tell them it must be a good multiple vitamin and mineral tablet/capsule and a 500mg vitamin C. Powdered vitamins in a capsule is best as they are easier to swallow and more assimilable. Tell them if they are going to fool around with low dose supplements, they can forget the whole thing. If you or someone else takes me up on this, please let me know what happened. I would be extremely interested in any feedback.

Someone should also send them this video. Then instead of having yearly physicals they could use any money they save to pay for the supplements.

I've always said that our Canadian government should make good quality supplements available at a very cheap price, cost perhaps, because I believe it would keep our health care costs down. I don't think giving people something free makes them appreciate it as much as if they have to pay something.
