Seeking God?
By Rev. Dean Beaty 7/20/12
Psalm 14:1&3 “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none
that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the
children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and
seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become
filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (KJV)
Men may come and go in life
But in sin they are the same.
There’s none that seeketh after God
Or call upon His name.
Think how this must hurt God’s heart,
For those made by His hand.
For if they do not turn to Him,
In judgment they will stand.
There’s no good when there’s no God,
As written in God’s Word.
Man’s righteousness is filthy rags,
From God we all have erred.
But there’s a remedy for sin:
Christ’s blood shed on the tree.
Redemption’s price was fully paid
To save and set us free.
Like the sheep lost and alone
Sin separates from God.
But He searches for His own
Both near and far abroad
So it is God that seeks for man
When we have gone astray.
He seeks till He has found the lost
And leads them to The Way.
Luke 15:4-5 “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose
one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness,
and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath
found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.” (KJV)
