God’s Garden and Grace
By Rev. Dean Beaty 1/30/12
Genesis 2:7-8 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the
ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden east
ward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.” (KJV)
God created Adam first and from Adam, Eve was made.
God placed them in a garden, His law to be obeyed.
From the tree of Good and Evil, God said, “Thou shalt not eat.”
“The day you do you’ll surely die.” One law both short and sweet.
The evil serpent tempted Eve, “Thou shalt not surely die.”
Because the fruit looked so good she thought she’d have a try.
She gave the fruit to Adam and then he took a bite.
That is when they realized they were naked in God’s sight.
God drove them from the garden. It was on that very day.
Then began the process that every man would pass away.
With animal skins God clothed them to cover up their shame.
God promised a redeemer and Jesus was His name.
In time Eve bore two sons and named them Cain and Abel.
This is how man started. It’s true and not a fable.
The sin of Eve and Adam was passed on to each son.
But God would send His own dear Son and He the victory won.
By grace God’s Son can cleanse our heart, free to one and all.
If we’ll confess we’re sinners and on Christ’s name we call.
By faith in Jesus Christ all our sins are washed away.
And by God’s grace and mercy, we’ll live with Him some day.

events and people from God’s word. Hopefully to be compiled in book form.
