Yes, I like it, but the boy looks so sad. I noticed all three are sad faces.

You have a sharp eye, Myrna; I had not noticed it myself. At least, not now; maybe in the past. Or not consciously. I may have even read about it somewhere long ago. What I can tell you right now is, Picasso used to portrait beggars and circus' acrobats and that sort of people and if you look at it, they are all sad people indeed. So you are right and it might be a distinctive trend in Picasso's portraits. I guess I would have to read at least a couple of books on Picasso's works to see whether this particular trend is known and if the knowledge of it has been shared by the 'specialists'.

P.S. Come to think of it, I don't know if Picasso's cubist period portraits also show that trend and it is perceivable at all, or it is a feature only with his beggars and 'saltimbanques'.
Is it in the famous painting below? I think it's not.
