Hi Evelyn

See what that green juice does to you?!! For shame!!

I can't talk right now. I am in hurry to make some green juice, too! You can never tell what kind of picture I might post after I drink that.

You sure are sorry alright! You are just trying to rub it in, aren't you? You can't do anything right today, can you?!!

I suppose the next thing you will be telling me is that you can get strawberries for 10 cents a pound or something ridiculous like that while we have to pay $4.00 a pound for red pieces of cardboard shaped like strawberries from the US ...at least that's what they taste like.

Just for that I will tell you how to make your own Strawberry glace from fresh strawberries.

Put strawberries in a pot and pour water over them until not quite covered. Bring the water to almost a boil until you see all the red come out of the strawberries into the water. Remove the strawberries and discard. Add sugar and thicken to desired thickness with cornstarch, not flour. Also add a pinch of salt. Also putting a tablespoon of butter in the water after it is hot adds a nice flavor (optional). Clarified butter is even better. Without the starch, this makes an awesome strawberry drink albeit not raw.

Go ahead and enjoy your strawberries but don't tell me about it. Do you want to see an old lady cry? Think of that when you are eating your strawberry pie. hmph!

Sorry about that Helen but you can at least save the recipe so you'll have it when you can get some good fresh ones. This pie is soooo good and soooo easy to make. I have made many in the past. Living here in SW Florida good fresh strawberries are available year round and I love putting them in a protein shake or making a run of freezer jam for my morning toast. :)

That's no fair! Now I am hungry for strawberries and they are not in season here until mid June. The strawberries we get from California are picked only half ripened and sometimes don't even taste like strawberries.

No Helen, unfortunately I can not buy strawberries for 10 cents a pound although most of the grocery stores here will run them bogo quite often but most of the time they're around $1.99 a quart. Helen you'll just have to come visit me and I'll make you one of these pies with strawberries that do not taste like cardboard.

True David, because we ingest the live enzymes which are killed by cooking, when we eat or drink fruits and vegetables raw.
