Hi Roger, yes I agree, the Monarchy does seem to work for you all. One thing though that I truly believe and that is we have no control over who we may like or love. If you think about it when you meet someone and get to know them we either like them, love them, tolerate them, hate them, or maybe somewhere in the middle. In my opinion we're attracted to people by who and what they are inside and not from any outward appearances and again I think this is something that is beyond our control. We can't be made to like or love someone, it either happens or it doesn't. I don't find either Prince Charles or Camilla particularly attractive but evidently the attraction was there for each of them. I know your country loved Diana, as did most of the world, and it's a shame she was caught up in this mess but she was very young and may have been blind sided by all the glitter connected with the Royals and she did produce two fine sons so it wasn't a total loss. Quote:
Miguel, Wonderful story. Evelyn, Some truth in what you say. The Queen's sense of duty is huge and sometimes gets in the way. She is deeply religious and really believes that she has a duty before God to serve. I think that Diana was chosen as a new bloodline and young childbearing addition. I think that Charles was told that this was his duty but at the end of the day it was so vry unfair. We loved Diana and her boys are a credit. The monarchy is a very dated concept but it sort of works for us. Ok, its a big drain on the nation's coffers but brings us in enormous visitor numbers. The number of Japanese visitors outside of Buckingham Palace most days is enormous as no doubt it is at the White House. The Queen seemed to enjoy the Concert last night and today of course she spiritually renews vows at Thanksgivnig Service. Last Nights Concert
